New York City Arts in Education Roundtables
The New York City Arts in Education Roundtables allow arts organizations providing arts education in New York City schools to meet and share information about their practices. Roundtables also provide information about arts education to the media, government, and public.

Membership is necessary to participate in the roundtables and is available to both individuals and organizations. Members will be provided with information about the arts-in-education field and the opportunity to participate in annual events. For more information on how to become a member, call 212.642.5979.

NYSCA deadlines
All of the New York State Council on the Arts’ (NYSCA) deadlines for arts-in-education grant programs fall between April 1-September 1. The deadlines for the General Funding Support grant are April 1 and July 1, depending on the organization’s fiscal year. The deadline for the Services to the Field, Local Capacity Building, and School-wide Arts Planning grants is May 1, and the deadline for the Project-based Planning and Project-based Implementation categories is September 1. Organizations must have registered on March 1 to be eligible for NYSCA grants.

Common Ground
The annual Common Ground Arts in Education Conference will be held this year at the Hyatt Regency in Buffalo from April 7-10. Keynote speakers will be performing artist and Artistic Director of the Living Word Project Marc Bamuthi Joseph and Special Assistant on Teacher Quality and Arts Education to the Secretary of Education Doug Herbert.

There is a $200 fee to attend the full Common Ground conference for those registering after March 18. Registration includes admission to workshops, breakfast, lunch, and receptions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Registration for single days costs $100 per day. BCA Art-in-Education Grants
The New York State Council on the Arts’ BCA Art-in-Education Grants fund collaborative efforts between Bronx schools, their community partners, arts and cultural organizations, and artists. The goal is to create projects and implement programs that use the arts to increase students’ engagement and increase their achievement. All applicants must attend a seminar and an arts-in-education professional development workshop prior to applying. PAE’s Arts in Education seminars
Partners for Arts Education’s Arts in Education Seminar Series will present training seminars designed to strengthen the role of the arts in learning for central New York. The seminars are for educators, parents, artists, and arts or school administrators. They will take place on April 16, April 30, May 14, and May 21 from 9:30 am-12:30 pm at SUNY Onondaga Community College.
