James M. Bower is Head of Institutional Relations for the Getty Information Institute, where he develops and manages strategic relationships that help the Institute increase the presence, quality, and accessibility of cultural information on computer networks. His work cuts across all of the Institute's programmatic areas, including advocacy and education, standards and research methodologies, and demonstration projects. As part of the Getty's Los Angeles Culture Net community networking initiative, Bower helped establish "Faces of L.A.," a consortium of cultural institutions building a "virtual database" of combined resources for research, education, and community development.
