Marci A. Hamilton is Professor of Law and Director of the Intellectual Property Law Program at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University, where she specializes in constitutional law, the First Amendment, and copyright law. During 1997-98 she is a Visiting Scholar at the Princeton Theological Seminary and a Fellow at the Center of Theological Inquiry. Her publications include "The Constitution's Pragmatic Balance of Power Between Church and State," 2 Nexus, A Journal of Opinion 33 (1997); "Art Speech," 49 Vand. L. Rev. 73 (1996); and "Computer Science Concepts in Copyright Cases: The Path to a Coherent Law," 10 Harv. J.L. & Tech. 1 (1997). Professor Hamilton is also a frequent advisor on matters involving Supreme Court litigation. She clerked for Associate Justice Sandra Day O'Connor of the United States Supreme Court and Judge Edward Becker of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she served as Editor-in-chief of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. She also holds an M.A. in Philosophy and an M.A. in English (fiction writing) from Pennsylvania State University, and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University.
