Hope, Melanie Printup, Artist Virtual Artist Residencies Melanie Printup Hope is of Tuscarora decent and was raised on the Tuscarora Indian Reservation in western New York State. Her video and installation work has been shown throughout the U.S. and Canada, and she recently received a Rockefeller Foundation Intercultural Film/Video/Multimedia Fellowship. She has also received fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, The Rockefeller Foundation, The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, and The Jerome Foundation. She earned a B.F.A. in graphic design at the Rochester Institute of Technology and a M.F.A. in electronic arts at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and lives in Schenectady where she owns her own graphic design business. Currently an assistant professor in graphic design at The Sage Colleges, she has also lectured at the Banff Centre for the Arts, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Skidmore College. |
