Beth Kanter is the Education Coordinator for Arts Wire, a program of the New York Foundation for the Arts. Ms. Kanter is responsible for working with organizations to plan and implement Web-based arts projects, from collaborative marketing Web sites and online artist residencies to online collaborative work environments. Recent projects include: circuits@nys, the Empire State Partnerships Project, Rural Arts Online and Arlington Arts Web Site. She has led workshops and developed training materials for hundreds of artists and arts organizations who want to create and implement Web-based projects, and is the author of the manual "Building Arts Audiences and Communities on the Web," published by the New York Foundation for the Arts with support from the Arts Challenge Fund in New Jersey. She is the host of Arts Wire's SpiderSchool, which provides technical support for arts-related Web projects, and maintains an award-winning public Web space of the same name. Beth is a member of the Boston Webgrrls Chapter and does occasional freelance work for Boston-area Web publishers. She serves on the advisory board for the Boston CyberArts Festival where is she co-chair of the Internet Committee and is a member of the advisory board for the Academy of American Poets Online Poetry Classroom and DoWhile Studio, a new media artist studio in Boston. Prior to joining Arts Wire in 1994, she has worked as an arts consultant and arts administrator for nonprofit arts organizations since 1980.
