Lopez-Khan, Cynthia, Director of Advocacy, Libraries for the Future Issues in Access Cynthia Lopez-Khan is the Advocacy Director for Libraries for the Future, where she has developed the Pump Up the Volume Campaign to encourage constituency participation in the programming and development of libraries. She has worked in independent film and video, and was the former Acting Executive Director for the Deep Dish TV Network. She has also been involved in the movement to create innovative distribution mechanisms using public, municipal and educational access channels to promote grassroots organizing. Closing the gap between the use of satellite technology and grassroots organizing is an important element of her work. She is a board member of the AIVF and Third World Newsreel, and the Chair of the Advisory committee of the Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College. |
