ELIZABETH BARAD is the Director of New York Arts Resolution Services at Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. Ms. Barad is an attorney who specializes in copyright and entertainment matters, as well as an arbitrator and mediator with the American Arbitration Association, the New York State Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Second Circuit, and the World Intellectual Property Organization. WENDY COHEN is Product Manager for Amacom New Media, a division of the American Management Association. She oversees all aspects of the development of a new interactive media product line, including writing, design, production, and packaging. Previously, Ms. Cohen worked as Senior Designer of Interactive Media at Siegel & Gale where she designed the interfaces for on-line projects for clients such as At & T, Merrill Lynch, and Northern Trust. Cohen was a judge for Communication Arts magazine's first annual interactive design competition. MARGARET EGAN is principal of Egan Consulting, which offers professional services in project management, systems/technology planning and financial analysis. With services specifically designed for the nonprofit community, Egan Consulting assists organizations in all phases of developing technology and electronic communications strategies including needs assessment, strategic planning, analysis and design management for technology system infrastructure. Ms. Egan has over 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, administration and systems development in foundations, and arts and health care institutions. ERNEST JOHNSON is Vice President of Operations at ArtNet. The Operations team works with ArtNet Marketing, Web Design and Technical departments to make ArtNet work efficiently. They also coordinate joint efforts between the departments to identify and develop new products and services for the company's subscribers. DICK JONES alias Mediabum, is an electronic media futurist, consultant, speaker and writer on the continuing media (r)evolution. His insight into digital convergence and new media issues is based on thirty years of work in computing, telecommunications, and electronic media. Currently, he is Executive Vice President of Business Development for Progressive Internet Alternatives (PIA) Inc. Among PIA's clients are: The New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Liberty Entertainment Corp., and Delphi Studios. PAUL KONTONIS is Director of Business Development at Silver Shock, working with clients ranging from the musical Rent to the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary to Robert De Niro and Tribeca Productions. Since 1993, Paul has been the President of Marble Columns Management, a full service artist management company specializing in new media marketing, promotion and content development to further the careers of its artists. From 1995 to 1997, Paul helped to develop and implement marketing strategies for Prozac, an anti-depressant medication manufactured by Eli Lilly and Company, in the New York City metropolitan area. Paul's experience in new media has also extended to Account Manager and Producer for Olympus America while freelancing and consulting for Stir Associates, a New York based web design company. Paul graduated from New York University as a Dean's Leadership Scholar with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. ELI KUSLANSKY is the Vice President of Unified Field, an award winning multi media interactive software firm. He specializes in design technology, communications, informational and educational products. With more than ten years experience in the industry, he has managed the integration of computer-based systems in design communications for a variety of design firms and software companies. For the three years prior to joining Unified Field, Mr. Kuslansky was Director of Technology and Interactives at Ralph Appelbaum Associates, internationally known museum designers. A graduate of the Cooper Union, Mr. Kuslansky is a member of the International Interactive Communications Society, the New York New Media Association, the Human Factor Society, and the New York Software Industry Association, and a former Board member of Exit Art. He is also on the advisory and development committee for online strategies for the M.I.T. Enterprise Forum. Considered an innovator in the field of interactive media, Mr. Kuslansky is a recognized Beta Tester for three-dimensional computer-aided design programs and software incorporating artificial intelligence. He is currently developing interfaces and designing custom software applications for museum, educational institutions, Fortune 500 Corporations, and financial institutions. JAMES MARCOVITZ is a staff attorney with Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. Mr. Marcovitz specializes in intellectual property, media, entertainment, arts and not-for-profit corporate law. TERI RUEB is a sculptor and environmental designer who uses traditional and digital media to explore the aesthetics and technics of memory. She is presently working on a site-specific sound installation with the support of the Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta, Canada. Rueb's independent and collaborative work has been presented in diverse venues including The New Museum of Contemporary Art, Interval Research Corporation, The Banff Centre for the Arts, and the Association for Computing Machinery's conference on Human Computer Interaction. Her company, Inventio Design, specializes in design and concept development of software and hardware interfaces for therapeutic communication systems. TERI SILVERS is the Director of Legal Services for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. She is an intellectual property lawyer with a background in copyright, trademark, publishing law, and dispute resolution. She is a graduate of Harvard law School, class of 1991, where she was Executive Editor of the Harvard Women's Law Journal, and Bryn Mawr College, 1986, where she graduated magna cum laude with honors in English. BILL SEERY of Mercer Street Sound works extensively as a consultant and sound designer for CD-ROM, film and video, multi-media installation and websites. |
