Building Knowledge and Skills: Case Studies and Workshops

3-Close Contact/Long Distance

Organizers of a Native American videoconferencing event discuss the process of exchanging cultural content using long distance tools. As part of the pre-conference activities, Neto Hatinawkwe Okwehoweh, an organization representing Native mediamakers, produced their first video conferencing event, which allowed a real time dialogue between video producers in two sites. Allan Jamieson, N.H.O.'s executive director, (and a newcomer to video conferencing,) and Randy Ross, an experienced telecommunications consultant, deconstruct the process exchanging cultural content using long distance tools.
