3. Open Studio & National Endowment for the Arts/Benton Foundation
Open Studio: The Arts Online is a joint effort by the Benton Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, to define and encourage public space in the new digital environment. As such, Open Studio seeks to establish public points of access to the Internet at arts and cultural institutions throughout the country, as well as support associated training programs to enable artists and art institutions to become effective information providers on the World Wide Web. Stephen Snow, founder and director of Charlotte's Web, a national award-winning regional interactive communications network based in Charlotte, N.C., and Janine Trusello, interim director of Buffalo’s Squeaky Wheel, [both Open Studio grantees], will be joined by David Low , the National Endowment for the Arts’ web manager.
