NYFA offers a variety of professional development workshops, panels, and conferences for artists working in all disciplines.

The workshops provide artists at all experience levels with professional development on a wide variety of aspects concerning their life, art work, and professional career in the arts.

ONGOING PROGRAMS

Doctor's Hours for Visual Artists
Individual, 20-minute one-on-one consultations with local curators, critics and gallerists. Monthly, with the exception of August/December.

Doctor's Hours for Filmmakers
Individual, 20-minute one-on-one consultations with theatrical and nontheatrical distributors, exhibitors, broadcasters, outreach strategists, and fundraisers.

Workshops for Immigrant Artists
Practical seminars and engaging panel conversations on themes responsive to the expressed needs of immigrant artists.


Past NYFA Learning Programs have included:

Support for Artists: A Resources and Services Workshop in Ajo, Arizona
In this workshop, NYFA Source Program Associate, Toccarra Thomas, discussed strategies for sustaining the artistic practice and gave an overview of awards, residencies, and opportunities available to individual artists looking for resources and support for their practice and independent projects, in Arizona and nationwide.

Post-disaster Conservation & Restoration Workshop for Artists
This workshop is the second of a three-part series presented by the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC), and CUE Art Foundation focused on recovery and emergency preparedness for artists of all disciplines.
