New York Foundation for the Arts' Painting Fellows
New and recent work by the twenty-four recipients of the prestigious NYFA Painting Fellowship in 2002 are on view in "On and Off the Wall." Presenting a wide range of content, form and application, the exhibit explores and illustrates the diversity of current painting practices today. The show includes several examples of painting away from the traditional canvas -- on the wall and floor, on crushed aluminum cans and on exposed surfaces of sawed tree branches.
