ARTIST AS ENTREPRENEUR BOOT CAMP is the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) program for visual, performing, and literary artists who want a unique opportunity for individualized focus on the professional and business side of their creative practice. ARTIST AS ENTREPRENEUR BOOT CAMP is a rigorous blend of formal classes, individualized training, networking and group interaction. Participating artists can expect ARTIST AS ENTREPRENEUR BOOT CAMP to spark goals and help to define concrete steps to building a business plan that can lead to financial security while providing individual and group feedback.
Curriculum emphasizes goal setting and creating a business plan, budgets and financial management, strengthening grant or project applications, improving writing and presentation skills and ways of identifying career opportunities.
Focuses on strategies for expanding your visibility as an artist including using the internet effectively through websites and social networking tools.
ARTIST AS ENTREPRENEUR BOOT CAMP ran in 2010 and 2011 through the generous support of The New York City Economic Development Corporation. The program was open to Visual, performing, and literary artists via a competitive selection process. Over 100 artists who demonstrated a commitment to the arts and a desire for an opportunity for professional growth have passed successfully through the program.
