Publicity for Filmmakers (June 24, 2010)

PUBLICITY FOR FILMMAKERS
One way or another, publicity is part of the job for every filmmaker. You need it to succeed, but how much do you really know about it? This seminar presented by publicist Bruce Mason covers: corporate and grassroots publicity, national and regional press outreach, pitching stories to the press, working with regional partners, using social media, the press rollout, and untraditional approaches to publicity.

Bruce Mason has an extensive background in PR and Marketing. His portfolio of clients ranges from large (Miramax, Weinstein, Lions Gate Films) to small (Fresh, Beer Wars). Bruce is currently working with grassroots marketer Film Sprout (King Corn, Pray the Devil Back to Hell) with publicity for the forthcoming PBS documentary Beyond the Motor City.
