Rebounding from Sandy: Recovery Workshop for Artists (January 10, 2013)

Rebounding from Sandy: Recovery Workshop for Artists

January 10, 2013
New York Foundation for the Arts

This presentation focuses on:

● Recovery resources for artists impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

● Navigating business and personal insurance policies after a storm.

● Emergency grants and loans available to artists affected by natural disasters, sudden illness or other unforeseen complication that results in the lost of income.

● Non-profit art organizations that provide specialized services for artists affected by natural disasters (including free conservation consultations)

Presenters:
Cornelia Carey – Executive Director of CERF+ (Craft Emergency Relief Fund + Artists' Emergency Resources).

Craig Nutt – Director of Programs of CERF+ (Craft Emergency Relief Fund + Artists' Emergency Resources).

The workshop was the first of a three-part series presented by the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC), and CUE Art Foundation focused on recovery and emergency preparedness for artists of all disciplines. These arts organizations have come together to provide critical support and resources for artists who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy as well as artists looking to prepare for situations that may occur in the future.
