Artist Statement:
I directed and produced a segment about the Cuban Film Festival. I researched several new projects and am starting to work on them now. My work developed greatly. I began working more independently and seemed to get a lot more ideas.

More about the Artist:
Maryann De Leo began producing community documentaries and reports for NBC’s Today Show. In 1986 she was awarded a National Emmy for her reports on the Philippines. Since her 2004 Academy Award for Best Documentary (short) for the film Chernobyl Heart, Maryann De Leo has made the TV documentary Terror at Home about domestic violence, which was nominated for a Primetime Emmy. She also co-directed the TV documentary Too Hot Not to Handle about global warming in 2006.

De Leo’s work has premiered at the American Museum of the Moving Image and has been shown at the MoMA.
