Artist Statement: Alfredo Arcia paints with both fine detail and monumental form to define motifs in his realistically rendered allegorical oils. Using subjects as diverse as the biblical Jonah or a modern day border flight, he speaks metaphorically about his own experience. "My work is about humanity, the whole theater of the world with its truths and follies. This is why a story, a narrative, is always present in my paintings. The social, political, religious, the absurd and grotesque all together are enough reason for me to explore all human contradictions."
