Painting
Artist Statement: Kenneth Jackson’s large-scale work is painted with uncompromisingly bold color and a hard-edged style. He chooses subjects with the same approach, throwing charged images from urban street culture onto the canvases. "The work I do I see as wall scrolls, a contemporary urban style graffiti painted traditionally on canvas. I deal with taboo subject matter that can be critical, sexist and racial. Most people back away from the uncomfortable feelings that they don’t like to talk about. It is difficult convincing people to relate to my vision. Art has always been my social weapon. Therefore, it’s got to be good art."
