Music Composition
Artist Statement:
Our new compositions were inspired by two tape-recorded conversations. We studied the rhythms and tones of the two women and translated their vocal patterns and personal expression into a musical piece. We abandoned any preconceived notion of structure in order to follow the natural curve of their stories. After 20 years of writing songs, we have become increasingly interested in the way people speak, and intrigued by the idea that human voices are always singing.
