Position Summary: Lead the Marketing & Communications department to develop, implement, and oversee the execution of marketing programs for FIAF. Liaise with all other key FIAF departments and locations, including satellite in Montclair, NJ, and Brooklyn, NY. Serve as the principle marketing representative within the organization, and as a key member of the FIAF Executive Team.
Main Responsibilities: • Maintain and promote FIAF brand and all FIAF’s programs and services across all platforms (print, digital, social media, press) and locations. • Manage six person Marketing & Communications team. • Oversee daily operations of all marketing and press activities: • Maintain marketing calendar and juggle multiple high priority, deadline-sensitive items. • Write and edit engaging copy for all FIAF materials, publications, print, and online advertisements. Supervise development of FIAF.org and manage site content with web programmer and digital marketing manager. • Supervise implementation and execution of multi-platform marketing campaigns including: Advertising (print, radio, online, outdoor, etc.); Direct Mail (seasonal calendars; brochures, postcards, etc.); Digital (website, online promotions, email promotions, social media, mobile). • Supervise social media strategy and development of FIAF brand on all social media platforms. • Analyze marketing efforts and sales patterns; oversee market research. • Manage marketing budgets for Marketing & Communications, Cultural programs, Language School, Membership, and Library. • Work closely with Artistic Director, Membership Director, and Language Center VP, as well as other members of the Executive Team to create and implement marketing strategies and campaigns to drive registration for classes; membership sign-ups; ticket sales for all events, including two festivals; donations, including annual appeal. • Establish and cultivate advertiser relationships, media partnerships, and relationships with other NYC cultural organizations.
Qualifications: • BA in Marketing, Communications or related field • Preferred 5+ years demonstrated professional growth in marketing or related field • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills in English (native speaker ) • Budget management experience • Knowledge of French and appreciation of French culture • Proficiency with basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) • Sense of humor • Knowledge of InDesign and experience with cultural nonprofit in New York a plus
