David Zwirner Inc. seeks a full-time Art Fair Manager/Coordinator for immediate hire for our primary market gallery, located at 519, 525 and 533 West 19th street. The ideal candidate must have 3-5 years of related experience at a large commercial gallery. A list of primary responsibilities is listed below:
Registration - Manage shipping for selected international and US-based art fairs (this includes shipments from the NY and London galleries, along with shipments directly from artists, other galleries, and consignors) - Manage the disbursement of sold works after the fairs - Secure multiple estimates for shipments and be responsible for staying within a budget - Act as the primary contact with international shipping agents and must have experience with international customs and tax regulations
In partnership with various sales directors assigned to each fair, oversee all logistical planning, including booth design, booth fees and administration - Arrange any necessary art handling or installation – both internal and external/local - Oversee the fabrication of model (for review from the sales team) - Strategize on rationalization of shipping between fairs (storage units, furniture, books, etc) - Maintain and order furniture as needed - Make other departments aware of all relevant deadlines and make sure they are respected
Secure budget approval for all fairs in advance and track expenses to ensure we are working within proscribed parameters - Shipping - Insurance - Travel - Dinners/Events - Art Handling - Booth fees and related costs (e.g., flooring, lighting, etc.)
