Graphic Designer
Mana Contemporary
(Jersey City NJ)

Mana Contemporary, has a position open for a full-time Graphic Designer in our Jersey City Offices. Mana Contemporary is a former 1.8 million square foot tobacco warehouse, which has been transformed into one of the largest artist-designed and run facilities in the nation. The interactive institution focuses on displaying the entire process of creating art while simultaneously providing a community and amenities for artists of varying skill levels and mediums. The job would consist of working with the design them and existing brand strategy to create everything from marketing material to social media posts to websites to exhibitions.  

Principal Accountabilities:
• Create fresh, attractive, engaging marketing material based on existing brand standards seeing them through from conception to print
• Work with internal Creative Director, Business Owners and design team as an integral part of our Marketing department to achieve successful, accepted designs
Job Requirements:
• An AA, BA or BFA in Graphic Design
• 3-5 years of professional graphic design experience
• Passion and experience with contemporary art. (art exhibitions are a plus!)
• Proficiency in Mac OSX, Adobe CS6.0 (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• A good understanding of print production/prepress and/or packaging
• Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, and a good eye for detail, with a focus on consistency and technical accuracy
• A strong design aesthetic and understanding with a solid grasp on typography, color and layout
• The ability to multi-task and communicate effectively per project requirements
• Initiative and drive to complete projects under tight deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and pleasant demeanor
