VOX, New York City Opera’s Contemporary Opera Lab, is currently accepting submissions for the 2014 installment. The performance will take place in conjunction with OPERA America’s New Works Forum on January 14th, 2014 in New York City.

Described by the New York Times  as an “invaluable showcase,” VOX gives American composers and audiences the opportunity to hear professional performances of excerpts of new operatic works, presented unstaged by members of the New York City Opera Orchestra and soloists.

Through VOX, NYC Opera has read excerpts from over 100 American operas, more than 30 of which have gone on to staged productions at American opera companies across the nation.
