Opportunities & Services for Artists
In Practice Project
SculptureCenter
(New York NY)

The In Practice program supports artists in creating new work for exhibition at SculptureCenter. We invite artists to submit proposals for projects and installations to be presented beginning January 2006.

The works and exhibitions created through this series include sculptural objects, installations, performances and artworks that operate between all of these disciplines. All of the lower-level project spaces, the exterior courtyard, the building exterior, the reception area, and stairway are available for In Practice projects. Artists are encouraged to visit SculptureCenter during gallery hours (Thursday – Monday, 11-6).

Building images and floorplans may be viewed and downloaded on our website, as well as previous works presented through the In Practice series. Please refer to this link for additional information: http://www.sculpture-center.org/pe_ip_about.html.

Artists selected for the In Practice program will receive a $250 honoraria and up to $1000 in production support.

Work in all media will be considered and artists are encouraged to experiment with the parameters of traditional display and exhibition formats. There are no geographic eligibility requirements, but please be aware that SculptureCenter cannot provide travel, housing or accommodations.

Proposals will be reviewed by a panel of artists and curators. Submitting artists will be notified by October 1st. Please do not call SculptureCenter before this date.
