The American Heritage Project
Solar-powered music recordings inspired by conservation efforts throughout the USA.
The American Heritage
project is the next themed recording project from The Sunrise Review
. Cultural and environmental conservation efforts throughout the US will be used as musical inspirations and recording studios.
For starters, locations will be selected from the UNESCO World Heritage List, which includes such American icons as the Grand Canyon, Statue of Liberty, Yellowstone, the Everglades, and Redwoods. Renewable energy will be used to feature points of interest along with local artists and organizations across the US.
The first stage of the project occurred in late February 2012 in conjunction with the next release from the Pacific series
. The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and glowing Kiluaea inspired harmonica and a soaring Mauna Kea sunrise inspired doumbek, laying the foundation for melodies and rhythms of a new folk fusion composition.
