Frontera Rep's mission is to engage audiences and push boundaries through the creation of a theatre aesthetic which resonates with our multicultural community. We are dedicated to building our region’s creative capital and advancing its creative economy by nurturing theatre artists and providing a professional artistic home where artists can contribute to the cultural enrichment of all who witness the reflection of humanity on our stages. Through leadership, education and outreach, we are committed to creating a theatre of inclusion where dialogue is encouraged and diverse voices are heard.
Slated to be the only professional Equity theatre in West Texas, Frontera Rep was created to fill a void in the cultural landscape of the Southwest. Located in the High Chihuahuan desert at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, El Paso borders New Mexico and the country of Mexico forming a unique confluence of art, culture, commerce, community and nature. El Paso is truly the final frontier. A place like no other, it is burgeoning and on the verge of a major explosion of creative and economic growth.
Frontera Rep will be an artist centric organization; a place where theatre artists can explore, develop and hone their craft while being compensated for their professional efforts. Frontera Rep will be a catalyst for change, engaging audiences through stimulating dialogue. Frontera Rep will help build El Paso’s creative capital, adding to the city’s growing economy. Frontera Rep will support the community through arts education. Frontera Rep will seek synergistic partnerships with innovative organizations sharing our goals to contribute to the cultural enrichment of the people of El Paso.

FREUD'S LAST SESSION centers on legendary psychoanalyst Dr. Sigmund Freud, who invites a young, little-known professor, C.S. Lewis, to his home in London. Lewis, expecting to be called on the carpet for satirizing Freud in a recent book, soon realizes Freud has a much more significant agenda. On the day England enters World War II, Freud and Lewis clash on the existence of God, love, sex and the meaning of life – only two weeks before Freud chooses to take his own.
