Poetic Abstractions is a traveling show of Bruce Rosen’s paintings, illuminated by his poems.
Poetic Abstractions is a traveling show featuring the paintings of Bruce Rosen, highlighted by his poems. Early on he penned, I tried to paint / The silences / The voiceless Void / Source of all speech. These words resonate with his later paintings, as well. Since the artist’s death in 1996, his work has been shown at the Islip Art Museum in East Islip, New York; the Selby Gallery at the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida; St. Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont; the Onward Gallery in Tokyo, Japan; the Queens College Art Center in Flushing, New York; and Guild Hall Museum in East Hampton, New York, to name a few. Maxine Rosen, executor of the estate of Bruce Rosen, is pleased to present his work to an ever-increasing audience, and to develop such materials as scholarly publications, educational kits, and the Web site http://brucerosen.org, which is in progress.
