We’ve been having unusually nice weather this November and many NYFA affiliated artists are here to make this month even better!

We are excited to share exhibition openings, readings, a benefit to honor five-time NYFA Fellow Ralph Lemon and more exciting events with you. Check out the list below and enjoy this arts-filled month.

Alvin Eng (Fellow in Performance Art/Emergent Forms ‘91, Playwriting/Screenwriting ’96)
Has a dramatic reading Our Laundry, Our Town at City Lore. Admission is $10

Stacks: Three Decades of Writing Fellows with an Installation by Anne Muntges
As part of the celebration for the 30th Anniversary of NYFA’s Artists’ Fellowship Program there will be a bookshow, Stacks, including works from over 100 NYFA Literary Fellows.
Anne Muntges (Fellow in Printmaking/Drawing/Artists’ Books ‘14) has created a site-specific installation for the event in our NYFA Gallery. All events are free and open to the public and reading in the space is encouraged. The Opening Reception will be this Friday, November 13 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.

Ellie Irons (Fellow in Interdisciplinary Arts ’15)
Is featured at the site-responsive exhibition Intersecting Imaginaries presented by No Longer Empty Curatorial Lab. The opening reception will be on November 19 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM

Ellie has also written an article, Feral Landscape Love: Novel Ecosystems in the Studio and the Street, for the Brooklyn Rail.

Kalup Linzy (Fellow in Video/Film ’15)
will host a two-day workshop, Kalup Linzy Art Lesson U Perform, for students from Xavier University of Louisiana which will be ended with a community discussion. The discussion is free and open to the public.

Mikhail Gubin (Fellow in Crafts/Sculpture ’14)
Currently has a solo show, Mikhail Gubin Geometry at the Gallery at Penn College. Today, November 12, 2015 you have the opportunity to meet the artist from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.

Eleanor Ray (Fellow in Painting ’15)
Has an exhibition of her Paintings coming up at the Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects Gallery. The opening reception will be this upcoming Wednesday, November 18.

Stacy Greene (Fellow in Photography ’94)
Is featured in the group exhibition ReVision at Galerie Protégé in Manhattan. Come to the opening reception tonight, November 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Ralph Lemon (Fellow in Choreography ’85, ’92, ’98, ’04, Interdisciplinary ’09)
We are excited to announce that five-time NYFA Fellow Ralph Lemon will be honored at Triple Canopy’s fall benefit A Benefit for Triple Canopy, Honoring Ralph Lemon.

When? November 18, 2015, 7:00 – 9:30 PM

This is the 30th Anniversary of NYFA’s Artists’ Fellowship Program and we are celebrating with events, like the exhibition Stacks: Three Decades of NYFA Fellows with a site-specific installation by Anne Muntges, throughout the state.
