Jenkins Johnson Gallery is an internationally recognized contemporary art gallery dedicated to showcasing and supporting the work of emerging and established artists, with a focus on inclusive and socially relevant practices. We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Registrar to join our New York team. This role integrates registrar responsibilities with key aspects of gallery operations, communications, and fair/exhibition coordination. The Assistant Registrar will manage the gallery's inventory and logistics, coordinate domestic and international shipments, and support the planning and execution of exhibitions and art fairs. The Assistant Registrar will report to the Head Registrar and make sure their role is always supported along with assisting with their daily tasks and projects. The ideal candidate will also bring strong administrative skills and can contribute to other roles and aspects of the gallery. This is a collaborative, detail-oriented position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about contemporary art.
Schedule: Full-Time, in-person position, Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. (occasional evenings and travel as needed)

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.F.A. in Art History, Museum Studies, Visual Arts, or related field); MFA/MA is a plus. Minimum 2–3 years of registrar or gallery experience in a contemporary gallery or museum. Familiarity with art market trends and contemporary art. Proficiency in Artlogic, Dropbox, MS Office, and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Mailchimp, Canvas, Asana, and Slack is a plus. Ability to work on multiple projects at once. Professional demeanor and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
