JOIN AN INSPIRING TEAM OF ART EDUCATORS AT NYC'S #1-RATED ART STUDIO! Seeking an outgoing, warm and experienced children and adult art teacher who is dedicated to enriching lives through artistic self-expression. Our students are ages 2-102, includes many beginners, and we promote creativity, relaxation, and empowerment through visual arts classes, events and workshops. HOURS: Part-Time, 15-20 hours per week, afternoons and evenings Monday-Thursday. Please be available on Saturdays for classes, workshops and events. CLASSES: Children's art classes, Art classes in schools and libraries, Adult Art Classes, Corporate Art Events, Private Lessons, and more. RESPONSIBILITIES / REQUIREMENTS -At least 3 years experience teaching children ages 4-17 in schools or after school programs -Excellent classroom and behavioral management skills -Above par communication and emotional intelligence skills -Teaching structured art classes that combine artistic technique with personal self-expression -Well versed in teaching with a wide range of materials, including painting in oils, acrylics, and watercolors, drawing with charcoal, pencil, pastels, and mixed-media supplies -Lead and facilitate diverse groups of people with the understanding of group dynamics and personality management -Syllabus development and/or project implementation -Participate in marketing and administrative duties connected to classes -Maintaining and growing a student following and return students QUALIFICATIONS -Degree in Art Education, K-12 certification with a foundation of Fine Arts, Studio Art or Masters in Education/Studio Art -Extremely responsible, warm and outgoing; Commitment to inspiring others through art and self-expression -Successful leadership skills that command an audience; Excellent conflict resolution skills -Interest in a long-term position with a growing team of passionate leaders -Growth mindset; Strives in a busy environment **IF YOU LIVE CLOSE TO THE UPPER WEST SIDE, IT IS A PLUS but not a requirement.
