- The Profitable Artist Book
The exhibition Courage, Valor, Mужество, Mужність, 勇气, opening on September 5 and running through October 25 at Russell Hill Rogers Galleries, UTSA Southwest Campus in San Antonio, TX, features new work by 26 artists in the 2024 San Antonio cohort of NYFA’s Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program. The title identifies the theme of courage in English, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, and Chinese, reflecting the native languages of immigrant and first-generation emerging artists in the San Antonio city and the surrounding region.
Since its inception in 2007, NYFA’s Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program has supported more than 1,000 artists from 76 countries and regions. The San Antonio program is presented in collaboration with UTSA Arts, the UTSA School of Art, Contemporary at Blue Star, Centro Cultural Aztlan, and Say Sí.
NYFA gives special thanks to our partner UTSA and Dr. Scott A. Sherer, Director of Exhibitions, UTSA, for helping the 2024 cohort organize this exhibition.
