Happy Medium exists to create and curate the best supplies, content and events for casual artists. There’s a lot of stuff there for kids and capital “A” Artists, but there isn’t much for those that fall somewhere in between. We are on a mission to fill the gap. Position Overview

Studio Assistants are the heartbeat of daily studio operations, providing thoughtful hospitality while ensuring all our spaces - from the Art Café to private events and specialty workshops - run smoothly. This is a hands-on, high-energy role for someone who loves making others feel welcome, stays calm under pressure, and has a sharp eye for detail. You’ll wear many hats throughout the day and play a vital role in delivering the Happy Medium experience.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Hospitality

• Greet and assist guests in the Art Café and throughout the space.
• Take and support café orders with warmth and clarity.
• Engage guests in conversation and provide help navigating our offerings.
• Maintain a welcoming, clean, and well-stocked environment across all areas.

Studio Operations

• Prep and restock creative materials (e.g., brush rinse glasses, sketchbooks, collage bar, watercolor kits).
• Ensure thoughtful ambiance throughout the studio.
• Reset bathrooms, refill supplies, and uphold cleanliness standards.
• Unpack and organize inventory shipments.
• Take out trash and recycling as needed.
• Help maintain both streetfront and garden spaces.

Special Events & Flex Support

• Assist with private events, figure drawing, and workshops as needed. 
• Be ready to jump into tasks big and small. This is a dynamic, ever-evolving role.

Requirements

• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable standing for long periods of time.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Weekend availability is required.
• Ability to work both inside and outside (in our external garden space)

Preferred Experience

• Background in hospitality, retail, or fine dining.
• Passion for art, creative spaces, or hands-on making.
