The role of the Studio Technician/Preparator is to support and facilitate the production of all artworks for projects and exhibitions. The Studio Technician/Preparator is a hands-on position centered around physical artwork production as well as packing and installing completed artworks, and various related responsibilities. In this role, the Studio Technician/Preparator is involved in all aspects of the art-making and art-handling processes and is responsible for ensuring the studio’s standards are consistently executed and maintained. The right person possesses exceptional hands-on skills, is uniquely and passionately detailed oriented, and a team player.

RESPONSIBILITIES
● Execute artwork production from start to finish
● Stretch and finish works on canvas with the highest level of precision
● Install artworks across studio spaces as well as at off-site locations
● Pack artwork and materials for production for shipment, both local and international
● Demonstrate knowledge of conservation and archival best practices
● Inspect artworks and materials for production (on and off-site, including international travel) and create condition/inspection reports
● Create and maintain artwork installation guides
● Assist in record keeping and tracking of artworks and materials for production
● Coordinate local movements of artworks
● Maintain relationships with third party vendors and suppliers
● Upkeep artist’s working space, materials, and supplies
● Contribute to the organization of studio spaces
REQUIREMENTS
● Minimum 3 years’ experience with artwork production/handling
● Exceptional artwork finishing and handling skills
● Critical eye for detail
● Track record of solutions-oriented thinking and demonstrated problem-solving abilities
● Interest in traveling internationally
● Driver’s license (non-CDL)
PREFERRED
● Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
● Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
● Experience with Artlogic and Notion platforms
● Ability to build detailed models of all kinds
