Description

ABOUT WALLA WALLA FOUNDRY

Walla Walla Foundry is one of the largest contemporary sculpture foundries in the world. Originally founded in 1980 as a bronze casting foundry, it produces work for well-known, contemporary artists in a range of materials and through multiple processes. For over four decades, the Foundry has worked at the intersection of fine art, architecture, and fabrication. We act as an extension of the artist’s hand, helping to realize complex, ambitious projects with integrity and precision.

ABOUT THE JOB

This newly created role encompasses sharing our story clearly and authentically with new and existing audiences and securing new work that aligns with our values and capabilities.  We seek a thoughtful communicator and strong relationship-builder to champion our brand, connect our work to new audiences and convert interest into new projects. This role blends marketing, research, outreach, sales and client engagement—not just to promote what we do, but to represent the values, care, and collaboration that define how we do it.

You’ll work closely with our company President, ownership and project team to grow the business through new sales, shape messaging, build new long-term relationships, and support clients throughout the sales and early stages of a project. This is a collaborative role, and we value transparency over gatekeeping and expect client relationships to be shared, not siloed.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, art management or other relevant area of study and has 10+ years of professional experience in client engagement, marketing, outreach, or project development—within creative fabrication, fine art, design, architecture, or adjacent industries, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Has experience working on a national or international scale, supporting high-profile artists, museums, design firms, architecture or construction firms, public arts agencies, and/or fabrication companies.
  • Has a strong passion for contemporary art, architecture or design, with a deep understanding of current artists and art trends.
  • Is energetic – Excited to tell the Foundry’s story and engage a variety of audiences.
  • Is resourceful – A self-starter who can manage multiple threads of work independently.
  • Is authentic – Genuinely values the Foundry’s mission, culture, and history.
  • Is relationship-oriented – Skilled at building rapport and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Is comfortable navigating both creative and technical conversations, and thrives in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
  • Is proficient with computers and technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. Experience with web site development, ERP software and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) is highly desired.

THE FINE PRINT

Ideally, this is a full-time, onsite position in Walla Walla, WA, with travel approximately 10%. Travel (per diem and travel costs covered) may include visits to industry events, client meetings or site visits. A hybrid or remote position operating out of an art hub (like LA or NY) is an option, for the right candidate.
