The Studio Museum in Harlem is accepting applications for The Robert Rauschenberg Curatorial Fellowship, a 12-month position designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to curatorial work for a young professional who has demonstrated a commitment to the museum field, and specifically to artists of African descent. The fellow will work under the direction of the Assistant Curator on a wide range of tasks in support of projects, ranging from research and writing toward various exhibitions programming to the coordination of logistics around our Artist-in-Residence program. This fellow will also work closely with the Assistant Curator to develop workflows and schedules that serve the diverse programming generated by our curatorial team.
The position will provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to join a cohort of fellows, interface with colleagues in various internal museum departments, and connect with external partners engaged in many facets of museum work. The fellowship includes a benefits package and provides $2,500 to cover travel expenses for an approved research trip related to the fellow’s field of interest.
