Description
Amant is a nonprofit arts organization located in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn, with a satellite residency campus in Siena, Italy. We provide a platform for international contemporary artists across disciplines through exhibitions, public programs, residencies, and publishing initiatives. Our campus—free and open to the public—includes exhibition galleries, a bookstore, a café (Kis), a garden, and a performance space.
We’re seeking a strategic and creatively driven Social Media Manager to lead the day-to-day planning, content creation, and execution of our digital presence across three interlinked entities: Amant’s contemporary art programming, Kis Café, and a new restaurant opening at the end of 2025. The ideal candidate is a sharp communicator with an eye for design and a deep understanding of contemporary culture, hospitality, and the visual arts.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape how Amant’s voice, vision, and values are experienced online—merging art, food, architecture, and public programming into one cohesive and compelling digital ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Content Creation
- Lead and implement Amant’s social media strategy across all three entities (arts, café, restaurant), maintaining a unified visual identity and voice
- Develop and maintain the monthly content calendar to ensure balance across content buckets (exhibitions, residencies, public programs, café/restaurant, etc.)
- Work closely with the Curatorial and Communications teams to anticipate needs for upcoming exhibitions and events, ensuring alignment across departments
- Integrate social rollouts with exhibition communications timelines (e.g., opening announcements, installation recaps, artist handles, website updates)
Content Creation & Execution
- Produce and schedule daily content on Instagram, with occasional support for other platforms and the website
- Design, produce, and schedule feed posts, stories, reels, and story highlights using in-house assets or by directing photography/video production as needed
- Manage and maintain visual consistency across the main feed, ensuring alignment with Amant’s brand standards and photography style
- Coordinate closely on digital materials for each exhibition, including opening posts, artist spotlights, and interactive content throughout the run
Collaboration & Communication
- Attend and help shape weekly Curatorial/Communications meetings
- Liaise with the café and restaurant teams to promote menus, events, and announcements in line with Amant’s tone and seasonal planning
- Coordinate with external photographers to secure exhibition and program images for digital use
- Contribute to the production timeline for digital exhibition materials (e.g. exhibition pages, homepage updates, email invitations)
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor performance of posts, stories, and RSVP links; track trends and report quarterly on engagement metrics, reach, and audience growth
- Adapt strategy based on content performance, follower behavior, and institutional goals
- Maintain and refine processes for tracking RSVP behavior by platform (Instagram, newsletter, website)
Community Engagement
- Actively maintain Amant’s presence within the art and cultural communities by engaging with artists, institutions, and collaborators online
- Respond to DMs and comments with clarity, helpfulness, and institutional voice
- Cross-promote content from resident and exhibiting artists, alumni, and partners in thoughtful ways that center Amant’s work
You Might Be a Fit If You...
- Have 3–5 years of experience in social media management, preferably in the arts, culture, galleries or museums. Experience in the hospitality sector is a plus.
- Are fluent in Instagram’s publishing tools and engagement strategies, and proficient with Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite
- Have excellent writing and editing skills with a strong sense of tone and visual storytelling
- Are deeply organized, deadline-conscious, and comfortable working across multiple timelines at once
- Enjoy collaborating across teams and juggling multiple identities within a shared institutional umbrella
- Have weekend and evening availability for occasional event coverage
- Have experience with tools such as Trello, Google Analytics, Meta Analytics, Eventbrite, Mailchimp, and CMS platforms
