The annual salary for this position ranges from $50k to $70k. Actual offer will be based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.

Ortuzar is looking to hire an Associate Artist Liaison to support their growing roster. Looking primarily for an individual with a deep commitment to working with artists. Some experience with mid-career artists, blue chip artists and estates is essential.
Assist assigned director/s with all of the below areas.
• Tracking overarching artist strategy
• Coordinate artist schedules, appointments, and travel arrangements
• Develop and manage meaningful relationships with curators to secure institutional exhibitions, commissions, and museum acquisitions for gallery artists
• Assist in managing museum exhibitions and external projects
• Monitor artist commissions and consignments
• Manage Director’s inbox ensuring streamlined communication and prioritizing commitments for enhanced sales opportunities
• Manage curator and client lists on AL for all senior staff
• Manage post-sales administration processes, including invoice tracking sheets and shipping status
• Coordinates public programs, compiling bios and materials for artists and speakers
• Maintain tracking lists and conduct research to support the gallery’s dynamic secondary market program
• Provide logistical and client support for art fairs, including on-site participation
• Participate in weekly sales and programming meetings noting important matters for your artists
• Liaise with sales team about availability of artists’ works and background information
• Oversee and review artist account statements and invoicing
• Oversee the fabrication of artworks for in-house exhibitions, art fairs and external museum shows in collaboration with the Operations Department for assigned artists
• Ensure artwork records are up to date and accurate for assigned artists
• Establish and monitor production budget and timeline for exhibition program and relevant external projects
• Contribute to the production of relevant in-house press releases, publications, and texts, liaising with designers, writers and publishers
• Contribute to development of PR, marketing and social media strategy
Skills & Qualifications
• Minimum of 2-4 years experience working in an art liaison gallery position
• Advanced degree in the Arts
• Experience with MS Office and Adobe suite including Adobe Photoshop
• Experience with ArtLogic
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills
• Familiarity with social media platforms
• Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
