ZIello Inc - Gilding Assistant – Full Time

Ziello Inc. is a distinguished picture framing studio situated on the border of Crown Heights and Bed-Stuy in Brooklyn. We specialize in fabricating custom-made frames in-house, led by a team of skilled craftspeople and creatives. We proudly collaborate with renowned galleries, museums, artists, and collectors both locally and internationally.

Ziello is seeking a hands-on gilding assistant to join our production team in Brooklyn. No prior gilding experience is necessary, but applicants should have previous shop, fabrication, woodworking, finishing, or production experience and be comfortable working with their hands in a fast-paced environment.

This role focuses on the preparation process for custom gilded frames. Attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work efficiently are extremely important.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Prepping frames for gilding
• Applying and sanding gesso
• Clay application for gilding
• Surface preparation and finishing work
• Assisting the gilding department with daily production needs
• Maintaining organization and cleanliness of work areas

Ideal candidate:

• Comfortable with repetitive, detail-oriented work
• Able to work efficiently in a production-driven environment
• Has experience working in a shop or fabrication setting
• Reliable, organized, and willing to learn
• Interested in craftsmanship, fabrication, or decorative arts
