The staff includes both emerging young professionals and seasoned fundraising veterans, and provides numerous opportunities for career education and growth. Since its inception, Koszyn & Company has fully paid their interns for the work they produce.
Our interns have received invaluable training and, in addition to obtaining jobs at our firm, have gone on to work at major non-profit institutions and/or started their own companies, including The High Line, Asia Society, Columbia University, the Brennan Center for Justice, and the U.S. State Department, among other distinguished careers. A subset of interns have gone on to work for the company full-time.
Position Description:
Koszyn & Company’s internships are opportunities for self-starters with a strong interest in the nonprofit field, entrepreneurism, and gaining valuable hands-on experience and professional skills. Given the dynamic environment, interns will be able to work closely with senior staff and be involved in many aspects of fundraising and development. There are potential openings for the fall of 2025 for candidates who, if based in New York City, can work both virtually and from Koszyn & Company’s NY office. The interns will work but not be limited to working in three specific focus areas relating to the overall goals of Koszyn & Company:
Research: executing research for individual, institutional, and corporate prospects. Projects may include:
• Supporting the overall marketing efforts for the firm
• Supporting the creation of producing foundation and corporate research
• Assisting in mailings for clients and the firm
Development: training in the strategy and execution of fundraising plans. Projects may include:
• Prospect analysis: individual, institutional, and corporate
• Assisting staff with copyediting
Marketing: implementing marketing plans and generating designed materials. Projects may include:
• Assisting in research for client collateral
• Supporting staff with event execution
Qualifications:
The candidate must demonstrate the following qualifications for consideration:
• Must be enrolled at or a recent graduate of an accredited academic institution
• Interest in fundraising and the nonprofit sector
• Stellar research skills and attention to detail
• Must be proficient in Word and Excel; advanced computer skills a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a team environment
• Maturity, motivation, and a positive attitude

Hours & Compensation:
Hourly pay for interns is $20. The internship, approximately 10-20 hours per week, will span from September to December 2025 – with the possibility of extension. The preferred start date for this position is September 2nd. However, we are flexible given school schedules.
