Project Manager

Blurring Books is a Brooklyn-based publishing house focused on art, music, and counterculture that aims to disrupt some of the practices of corporate publishing.

We are looking for a Project Manager with an interest in publishing, art, and writing to join our team. Must have a sharp eye, copyediting skills, and be highly organized. Attention to detail is essential.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing submissions
• Organizing book/artist data
• Research (art-related)
• Curating
• Copyediting
• Communicating with artists, printers, distributors, and more.
• We are very open to working with your interests and anything you want to learn within publishing/art world!

Publishing industry experience preferred, but not essential.

The job will initially be purely commission-based (10% of net profits on each project) with the opportunity to grow into a part-commission, part-salary role once the company is generating significant funds.

We are looking for someone who sees the potential in Blurring Books as a start-up company with a socialist mentality, and wants to grow with us. Option to work part-time or full-time.

Applicant must be in the NYC area. Hybrid schedule in Chinatown office. Very flexible.
