Description
New York and Paris based design studio seeking a junior designer to assist in a brand new showroom in Soho. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a client facing roll and is excited in a roll that is hybrid design as well as sales and gallery focused.
About the Role:
We are seeking a personable, design-savvy individual to join our team as a Junior Designer and Showroom Assistant. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow within the art and design world while playing an integral part in the day-to-day experience of our visitors and clients. You’ll be the welcoming face of the showroom, guiding visitors through the collection, supporting client engagement, and assisting with behind-the-scenes operations. You will gain experience running production of our bespoke collection while seeing every stage of the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Front of House:
- Greet and welcome collectors, buyers, curators, and visitors
- Present and explain the work with clarity and enthusiasm
- Communicate the philosophy, materials, and processes behind the pieces
- Maintain an inviting, well-organized showroom environment
- Collect and organize visitor information and client inquiries
- Facilitate collaborations with brands, media, and other opportunities
- Innovate on and maintain showroom visibility
Back of House:
- Assist with inventory management and tracking pieces on view or in storage
- Support sales processes: generating invoices, packing details, shipping coordination
- Support fabrication and production processes
- Maintain client records and follow up on leads
- Help prepare the space for openings, events, and visits
- Coordinate with the artist/founder and fabricators as needed
Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about art and collectible design
- Design Production Skills / Ability to learn
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable engaging with a range of clients, from collectors to press
- Fluent in English, (French a plus!)
- Previous experience in a design showroom, gallery, or similar context is a plus
Qualifications:
- BA in Design & Business, Interior Design, Product Design, Architecture, or other relevant experience
- Rhino, CAD, Adobe CC
- Midjourney a plus
- Must be able to work legally in the US
- Available to start in the near future
