About Us
Hypersonic is a small and dynamic team of artists, designers, and engineers who blend art, design, engineering, and technology to create unique and site-specific works across various fields, including museum exhibits, public art, product design, and robotics.
The Role
We are seeking a Studio Manager / Marketing Manager to ensure the smooth running of our day-to-day activities and to support us with implementing our marketing strategy, working closely with our PR agency and Social Media strategist. This role requires a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual with a keen interest in the art and design sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Operations & Administration
• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the studio, ensuring an efficient and organized workspace.
• Manage the studio calendar, including meetings, events, deadlines, and travel arrangements.
• Coordinate team and project meetings, preparing agendas, and ensuring follow-ups.
• Research and book studio travel when required (flights, trains, hotels, etc.).
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing communication via the main studio email account.
• Handle administrative and financial tasks, including invoicing, payments, payroll, and bookkeeping.
• Assist with logistics, including materials sourcing and shipping.
• Keep an up-to-date record of project developments, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation.
Marketing & Social Media
• Support content creation, including basic photo and video editing, and copy writing, for marketing and social media.
• Oversee social media scheduling and engagement, implementing content strategies with guidance from an external social media strategist.
• Research public art opportunities online and assist with proposals and grant applications.
• Help develop marketing materials and establish new industry contacts with guidance from an external PR agency.
Qualifications & Skills
Studio Operations & Administration
• 3–5 years of experience in studio management, administrative operations, or a related role.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, manage priorities and schedules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, particularly Excel, for scheduling,
budgeting, and documentation.
• Financial administration skills, including invoicing, payments, payroll, and bookkeeping.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate and address challenges.
• Experience with logistics coordination, such as materials sourcing, shipping, and studio travel arrangements.
• Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and project documentation.
Marketing & Social Media
• Experience in content creation (basic photo and video editing) for digital marketing.
• Familiarity with social media management, including content scheduling and audience engagement.
• Ability to assist with grant applications and proposals, researching opportunities and assembling content.
• Experience working with PR or external marketing teams to develop outreach strategies.
Desirable
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Familiarity with public art installations, museum projects, or exhibition management.
• Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) tools or project management software (e.g. Asana).
• A valid NY driver’s license for occasional travel.
