We are looking for warm, reliable, and engaging female companions for two rewarding part-time opportunities supporting older adults in Queens and Long Island City.
Position 1: Mandarin or Cantonese-Speaking Companion – Bay Terrace, Queens
Support a lovely older woman with early-stage dementia by providing meaningful conversation, gentle assistance, and companionship.
Schedule: Either Monday & Thursday or Tuesday & Saturday, 5-hour shifts starting around 10:00 AM (some flexibility).
Rate: $27.50/hour
Highlights:
- Provide friendly conversation in Mandarin or Cantonese
- Light household support or meal prep as needed
- Accompany client on walks or short outings
- Offer a consistent and caring presence
Ideal Candidate: Local to Flushing/Bay Terrace or able to travel easily; experience with dementia care preferred.
Position 2: Female Companion with Exercise/Yoga Experience – Long Island City
Guide gentle movement sessions with an older adult, focusing on safe, ability-based exercise.
Schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Rate: $25/hour
Highlights:
- Lead light exercise, yoga, or movement routines
- Apply knowledge of muscle groups and safe activity
- Provide uplifting, encouraging companionship
Ideal Candidate: Background in yoga, fitness, or wellness; comfortable working 1-on-1 in Long Island City.
General Requirements for Both Roles:
- Warm, patient, and dependable personality
- Genuine interest in older adults’ well-being
- Relevant experience (either language skills with dementia support or exercise instruction)

Responsibilities:
- Providing proactive, creative companionship to older adults and people with chronic health conditions in their homes (e.g., discussing current events, creating artwork, reviewing photo albums).
- Planning activities outside the home and accompanying clients to keep them engaged with the world and their favorite pastimes (e.g., trips to museums, concerts, plays, or the park).
- Escorting clients to doctors’ appointments.
- Running errands for clients (e.g., grocery shopping, sundries).
- Reminding clients to take their medications.
- Doing light exercise with clients (e.g., helping with stretching routines or prescribed physical therapy ).
- Assisting clients in preparing meals.
- Performing light housekeeping, such as dusting, tidying, and laundry.
Qualifications:We welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds including the creative arts and healthcare fields. Our employment is selective. Strong candidates possess:
- A passion for caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Prior experience working with this population is valued, but not required.
- An accredited high school diploma, though we prefer candidates with college and advanced degrees
- Deep empathy and patience.

- Creativity and a positive, open-hearted approach.
- Strong composure under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust-based relationships with clients and their families.
