We are seeking a dedicated and experienced People Manager. The People Manager plays a pivotal role in fostering a dynamic, engaging, and high-performing work environment. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic HR initiatives that attract, retain, and develop top-tier talent while ensuring compliance and operational efficiency. Duties
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
✅ Partner with the Executive Director to develop and execute effective recruitment strategies to attract high-quality candidates.
✅ Manage the end-to-end hiring process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection.
✅ Work closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, refresh job descriptions, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
✅ Oversee pre-employment processes, including background checks, reference checks, and other screenings to ensure compliance and best hiring practices.
Employee Onboarding & Offboarding
✅ Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new hires, working alongside the HR Assistant, who handles administrative duties.
✅ Conduct orientation sessions to introduce new employees to organization’s mission, culture, and policies.
✅ Facilitate the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews to gather insights for improving employee experience and retention.
Employee Relations & Workplace Culture
✅ Partner with the Executive Director and collaborate with the senior management team to foster a positive workplace culture that encourages teamwork, open communication, and employee engagement.
✅ Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.
✅ Address employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary matters with professionalism and discretion.
✅ Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times to encourage similar behavior in day-to-day interactions with staff, program participants, families, and visitors.
Performance Management & Employee Development
✅ Partner with the Executive Director to monitor and refine the organization’s performance management system.
✅ Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees on performance-related issues, fostering professional growth and accountability.
HR Policy & Compliance
✅ Collaborate with the Executive Director and legal counsel (as needed) to update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook (new version effective October 2024).
✅ Stay current with federal, state, and local employment laws, ensuring compliance in all HR-related matters.
✅ Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, managing HR documentation efficiently.
Benefits Administration
✅ Work closely with insurance administrator, and other essential parties, to coordinate employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and flexible spending accounts.
✅ Ensure accurate deductions, timely reporting, and clear communication of benefits information to employees.
Payroll & Compensation Oversight
✅ Collaborate with the Finance team to administer payroll, ensuring timely and accurate wage payments, tax withholdings, and benefits deductions.
✅ Maintain and manage the payroll system, ensuring smooth operations and resolving any processing issues.
✅ Generate payroll reports for management, tax reporting, and year-end documentation (e.g., W-2 forms).
Education and Experience Required:
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in human resources management.
Required Skills & Competencies:
· Knowledge of human resources administration and employment laws and regulations.
· Experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compensation and benefits administration.
· Strong written and reading fluency in Spanish is essential.
Work Hours, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:
· Works weekdays 9am-5pm in an office environment. Remote work options are available, but not on a full-time basis.
