Description

We are seeking a dedicated Studio Production Coordinator to join our dynamic team at Molly Gochman Studio. This full-time hybrid role, with an average of 4 days in person in our Soho studio, is designed for a highly organized and adaptable individual with experience in studio production and project management. The Studio Production Coordinator is central to keeping the studio running smoothly and professionally, assisting with both art production and the administrative needs of a professional artist’s practice. 


The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in fine arts processes, a strong foundation in digital tools, and the ability to manage small to mid-scale projects. They are detail-oriented, proactive, and have the ability to engage with positivity, enthusiasm, and an eye toward problem solving. The Studio Production Coordinator will work closely with Molly, reporting directly to the Studio Manager. Preferred start date is August 18th. 


Key Responsibilities

Fine Art Production

  • Assist in the execution of hands-on fabrication tasks, including painting, mold preparation, casting, and woodworking
  • Collaborate closely with the artist to execute detailed tasks with precision and responsiveness to feedback
  • Support the translation of concepts into physical form by testing new materials and construction approaches
  • Maintain and organize production tools, supplies, and workspaces to optimize daily studio operations
  • Participate in the construction of installation components and art installations
  • Assist in the creation of physical mock-ups and models

Digital Art Production

  • Assist in the production of digital mock-ups, renderings, and installation guides
  • Execute design tasks using Adobe Illustrator and related Adobe Suite tools
  • Create small to medium complexity digital designs from existing visual assets
  • Maintain digital documentation and organization of studio projects

Project Management & Administration

  • Coordinate with vendors for small to medium-sized projects
  • Conduct research on materials, concepts, fabrication processes, and locations
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of applications - including identifying opportunities, gathering materials, and compiling submissions
  • Manage studio inventory, maintaining supplies and equipment
  • Prepare the studio for studio visits, maintaining a clean, presentable, and professional environment


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Fine Arts or equivalent work experience
  • Basic knowledge of painting, moldmaking, and woodworking
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and comfort across the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience working in a professional artist’s studio
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Ability and willingness to lift 50 lbs and stand on feet for prolonged periods of time


Core Competencies

  • Detail-oriented with a strong memory for tracking projects and materials
  • Clear, proactive communicator who thrives in a collaborative creative environment
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills


Bonus Skills

  • Hands-on experience with metalworking, textiles, glass, and/or printmaking
  • Experience with Rhino and CAD software
  • Graphic design capabilities beyond the basics
  • Knowledge of artist residencies, grants, and application processes
