This full-time, Monday through Friday position comes with a full suite of benefits including paid time off, health/dental and 401k. Compensation range is commensurate with experience: $50,000-$85,000.
A contemporary art gallery located in Chelsea is seeking a highly organized and resourceful Executive Assistant with a strong interest and knowledge of the art market and sales, to provide comprehensive support to the gallery owner. Working alongside a gallery Director, the responsibilities encompass administrative and sales assistance, client relationship management, project and collection oversight, auction support, scheduling and travel arrangements. Additionally, the role involves supporting gallery operations, event management, and building strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience providing executive support in a fast-paced environment such as a gallery or art advisory firm, and a demonstrated interest in sales or artist management. Excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maturity are essential. This role requires flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Art History, Business, or Arts Administration, and a thorough understanding of the workings of a gallery or auction house. Proficiency in Gmail Suite and Microsoft Office is required, and familiarity with art database systems.
