Description
Digital Media Associate
Petzel is a contemporary art gallery based in New York with an eclectic program of international artists, all of whom are critically acclaimed for their distinct creative processes. Petzel operates out of the heart of Chelsea at 25th Street.
Overview
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Sales Team, the Digital Media Associate is responsible for developing and executing engaging digital content that promotes Petzel exhibitions, artists, and events across various platforms. This role includes working closely with the gallery team to ensure all content is accurate, visually cohesive, and strategically aligned with our goals. This is a highly collaborative position that requires creativity, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of digital trends in the art world.
Core Responsibilities
- Work with Sales Team and Media Archivist to develop strategic schedules around artwork movement and photography for sales PDFs, previews and other promotional materials
- In collaboration with the sales team, produce polished sales PDFs and other promotional materials tailored for collectors, curators, and institutional partners
- Oversee and collaborate with Media Archivist on responsibilities regarding in-house and on-site photography
- Manage the gallery website, including updating exhibition history, editorial content, and keeping the Petzel online platform current
- Create content across digital media platforms to enhance digital engagement
- Maintain production and schedule of newsletters and e-blasts, reflecting the roster’s most current activities in and outside of the gallery
- Produce video walkthroughs and content for exhibitions, artworks, and art fairs
- Produce promotional materials such as exhibition videos, artist interviews, and accompanying printed materials
- Design and produce marketing materials such as newsletters, event invitations, and promotional graphics that reflect the gallery’s aesthetic and mission
- Facilitate the design of all print and digital advertisements, mailers, postcards, booklets, posters, and stationary
- Bring innovative ideas to communicate our mission, values, and services creatively and clearly
Qualifications
- At least 1–2-year experience in digital content creation, preferably in the arts or cultural sector
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, Google Analytics, Social Media Platforms (Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok), Mailchimp, and marketing/media software
- Extreme proficiency with Photoshop and InDesign for imaging and design purposes
- Familiarity with digital and analog photography practices
- Strong portfolio showcasing digital and social media campaigns, designs, and written content
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Precise attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- A creative, collaborative spirit with attention to detail and a proactive mindset
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in a foreign language
- Familiarity with Artlogic
Schedule
