Part-Time Assembler

Boutique lighting design studio and manufacturer seeking a Part-Time Assembler and Studio Assistant to support lamp assembly and fabrication work at our Brooklyn studio, located in the Clinton Hill & Navy Yard area.

This role requires a detail-oriented, hands-on candidate comfortable with reading shop drawings, using power tools, and assembling finished components. Prior experience in lighting or fabrication is strongly preferred. Operations training will be provided.

Typical day is 10am–6pm, with a half-hour lunch break

Minimum commitment: 2 days/week

Preferred schedule: Monday–Wednesday, 3 days/week

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble lighting components and complete fixtures
• Fabricate and hand-form metal parts using tools and hammering techniques
• Perform basic electrical wiring and fixture testing
• Assist with sample builds and prototype development
• Pack and wrap parts and finished products
• Organize and maintain shop cleanliness
• Sort inventory and pick parts for active projects

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience required
• Prior lighting assembly experience strongly preferred
• Metal shop or fabrication experience a plus
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 21 or older
