Description

Happy Medium exists to create and curate the best supplies, content, and events for casual artists. There’s a lot of stuff out there for kids and capital “A” Artists, but there isn’t much for those that fall somewhere in between. We are on a mission to fill that gap. We aim to be part of a world where more people feel emboldened to create things with their hands, just for the hell of it– because the real thrill simply lies in the making.

Within that framework, The Happy Medium Workshop supports all of Happy Medium’s offerings, as well as producing products, furniture, and commissioned work. We are in search of a proactive and detail-oriented draftsperson to help fuel the development of new products and help us formalize in-house design and develop an H.M. graphic standard.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development of drawings and details that aid the production team in the fabrication of furniture and products. You will also be tasked with the documentation and development of drawings, which take conceptualized pieces of furniture into production status. Our ultimate goal is to develop an in-house shorthand and template for representation. Streamlining our design to production process.

To be successful in this role, you will be:

A creatively minded individual, quality and solution-focused
Enthusiastic about creating clear and beautiful drawings
Prior knowledge and experience with digital drafting and modeling programs
A proactive worker/learner, always aiming to improve
An expert organizer and has a collaborative mindset
Interested in creating a unique and tailored graphic standard for a growing company
Have some understanding of furniture design, wood joinery, tool names, etc.
