$35–$50/hour, commensurate with experience. Part-time, ongoing position. Includes paid sick leave in line with New York law, paid studio holidays, and a flexible, predictable weekly schedule. You'll work closely with a small team and have firsthand exposure to the studio's exhibitions, publications, and print projects.
Tyler Mitchell is a New York-based photographic artist whose work spans exhibitions, books, editorial & commercial projects, institutional commissions, and film/video. The studio is seeking a Studio Archivist.
We are looking for a meticulous, self-motivated Studio Archivist to take ownership of the studio's physical and digital archive. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the studio. You are the steward of a growing body of work. Negatives, prints, publications, and the complete digital record of every artwork and project that is produced.
The right person finds real satisfaction in order, structure, and detail. They handle delicate materials with care and discretion, and are as comfortable with a Synology server as with an archival print or negative box. You will keep the archive accurate and easy to search so that nothing is lost, everything is findable, and the archive remains a living, well-tended system that supports the long term legacy of the project.
