Shop Associate

Overview

SITU Fabrication is a leading architectural fabrication company located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. We are seeking a full-time Shop Associate to join our team. The Shop Associate will report to the Director of Production and work alongside the fabrication team. This role will be responsible for supporting SITU’s production and fabrication shop needs, such as daily cleaning and maintenance, deliveries and supply-runs, material and equipment movement, as well as shop improvement projects and job-specific support. The broader expectation of this junior position is to enthusiastically participate in keeping our fabrication team and facilities equipped and efficient.

Skills and Abilities

The position requires the following physical abilities:

• Ability to lift objects up to 50lbs to a height of 3-4 feet.
• Ability to work continuously for 2-3 hours standing up.
• Maintain a high level of communication as a team member.

You also need to meet these mandatory requirements:

• Must speak English (ESOL acceptable).
• Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent knowledge, skills, experience, or training certification.
• Have a valid driver's license with a clean record. Motor Vehicle Record check required.
